My Story
It is still embarrassing to admit this. After my marriage ended, I ended up under the control of what I can only describe as a vulnerable narcissist (often called Covert narcissist) All my plans and my wealth were gradually guilt-tripped away from me over a 3-year period. I was left, with no job, a ton of debt and few friends. I had no idea what happened. After all, wasn't I doing what I was supposed to do in a relationship? It was like being in a form of shell shock (known as cPTSD or complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). If you are a co-dependent, I can help with this as I have been there. The fastest way is with a personal Breakthrough plus boundaries coaching.
However, this was the start of the awareness and growth process on how my own needs were used to manipulate me. I experienced what it's like to experience co-dependency first-hand. Like most life lessons, when you learn them, you learn them hard. I had to take responsibility to sort myself out and immunise myself from manipulation while keeping my humanity and sense of self.
I came across a practitioner course on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in Canada run by Dr Matt James's "The Empowerment Partnership". Dr Matt and his team teach a novel approach to NLP which includes elements of Hawaiian spiritual practices known as Huna.
I went on to California to study and become an NLP Master Practitioner, Breakthrough and Mental and Emotional Release Therapy® Specialist. On returning to Glasgow I became certified in Counselling skills at the Glasgow Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Centre. I also look at other modalities such as mindfulness, coaching and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and I am always looking for ways to improve for myself and others. So, in March 2023 I enrolled in a course on Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy and I enjoy developing the knowledge and skills this course offers to bring to my clients as well as the amazing people in my class.
My degree background is in Physics and have worked in engineering and Information Technology most of my life. I believe in science and love science-based therapy but have room for a bit of the spiritual side of life as well. We are after all also spiritual beings in our nature. NLP and Hypnotherapy are not yet available on the NHS. However, as almost every therapist can testify, NLP and Hypnotherapy can produce life-changing results and quickly. I have many clients that, within days or even hours, their life is changed and they are on the path to doing what they want to do.
“Most people think the will to survive is the strongest instinct in human beings, but it isn't.
The strongest instinct is to keep things familiar.” - Virginia Satir
So, how can I help you?
I now offer Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy as the primary system of helping you get the very best out of yourself. I see it as an evolutionary step in my ability and skills to help you find your solutions.
I use proven safe, ethical, effective tools, methods and practices to help people quickly change their lives into something more empowering and positive. I do this while getting to know you as best I can with kindness and empathy. Something that helps people become unstuck, focused, have more energy and find purpose.
NLP is what started me on my journey of self-discovery. I realised that I needed to reassess everything. What NLP brought to my life was how to let go of the mental and emotional baggage that was causing chaos in my life and to do this quickly. If it can do this for me, then it can do it for you. I have kept up my education and development to get the best out of myself to get the very best out of you.
O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!

An' foolish notion:
-Rabbie Burns
As Rabbie Burns noticed, to see ourselves as others see us gives us an empowering perspective. It is difficult to deal with the inner world on your own. Friends and family can help but they are not always available, honest, or know what to do. It is much more helpful to work with a trained professional. This is true of all walks of life, not just in a therapeutic setting. the journey is not always a comfortable journey when you need to look deep within yourself but it's worth it. As my counselling tutor says "I dance on my comfort zone". I invite you to do so as well.
I have been practising for over 5 years now and helped many people make the real changes they want and become more empowered in their lives. it's not as glam as Tony Robbins, but you don't need to spend thousands of pounds for the chance to be selected to go on a stage and maybe, just maybe, my down-to-earth, holistic approach is more effective for you.
